1. What We Collect

Nothing. WiseSweep does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. The extension makes zero network requests. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, and no tracking of any kind.

2. What Is Stored Locally

WiseSweep stores only your preferences (which triggers are on, which data types to clean, your whitelist domains, theme choice) in Chrome's local storage on your device. This data never leaves your browser.

If you enable Self-clean on exit, even these preferences are erased when Chrome closes.

3. Activity Logs

WiseSweep keeps a short activity log (last clean time, status, and reason) in Chrome's session storage, which Chrome automatically erases when the browser closes. No persistent log of your browsing activity is kept.

4. What the Extension Removes

When triggered, WiseSweep instructs Chrome to erase browsing history, cookies, cache, downloads, local storage, IndexedDB, service workers, and other browsing data using Chrome's built-in chrome.browsingData API. Hosted apps data is a legacy Chrome data type and is not sent to modern Chrome.

If you have added domains to your whitelist, WiseSweep preserves cookies for those domains so you remain logged in. Local storage preservation for whitelisted domains is best-effort.

While a whitelist is active, Chrome-global data types that cannot be filtered by origin (history, downloads, form data, passwords, cache, appcache, plugin data, and certificate tokens) are skipped instead of globally wiped so whitelisted domains are not deleted.

WiseSweep wipes all website-origin browsing traces, including storage that other extensions may have created on web origins. It does not and cannot access or delete other extensions' own chrome.storage data; that is sandboxed by Chrome per-extension and can only be removed by uninstalling those extensions. WiseSweep can optionally wipe its own chrome.storage on exit so it leaves zero trace of its own preferences.
